PEARL COLLAR
A Pearl collar hugs the neck snuggly and is approximately 35cm/14 inches long. This length is most popular for 3-5 strands using smaller pearls and worn with necklines that expose the decolletage.
PEARL CHOKER
The length of the choker is 41cm/16 inches long and rests comfortably in the nape of the neck. Definitely a popular choice for single pearl strands. Brides prefer this style when wearing dresses with boat necklines and off the shoulder styles. A fresh take that has become popular is chosing much larger baroque pearls.
PRINCESS NECKLACE
The princess necklace length is 46cm/17-19 inches in length. The most common length for pearl necklaces because 18 inches is considered the classic length for pearl necklaces. It suites both crew and high necklines. This is the go-to length if in doubt which strand length is most appropriate.
MATINEE NECKLACE
This is the in-between-length and meassures 50cm/20 inches. I suggest this length for customers who mostly wear garments that cover the decolletage area. A very popular choice to wear with winter garments.
OPERA NECKLACE
The Opera necklace is 60cm/24-30 inches long. This length is often chosen for informal necklaces. It lends itself to fun and fashionable styles. It can be worn as a single strand with high necklines or doubled to create a two-strand choker. It was also often worn with a knot just slightly above the bust line. Definitely still an elegant and striking choice worn with evening wear.
THE PEARL ROPE
The Pearl Rope is anything from 76cm/37 inches and longer. This length reminds us instantly of the 1920 Flapper fashion. It is most versatile in its many uses. It can be linked with silver or gold chain, inter-mixed with semi-precious stones; graded in pearl colours and/or sizes. Lariats are included in this catagory.
